Considerations when buying a children’s loft bed

Room size: Although a trundle bed is a great space-saving choice, you should first ensure that it will fit comfortably within your children’s bedroom. This will mean allowing the combined size of the bed frame itself as well as the pull-out trundle. There should be at least 120 cm in front of the bed to pull out the trundle bed frame and still have space to move around.
Children’s age: Being so close to the ground, a trundle bed is suitable for the smallest of children. However, the top sleeping area is recommended for those aged six and over.
Assembly: Like other beds in the Bunk Beds collection, our trundle bed range is designed for easy assembly. You’ll receive the complete trundle bed frame in a flat pack, which can be moved easily into a child’s bedroom without having to worry about bumping into tight corners. We also include clear instructions to help you get set up in no time.
Cleaning/maintenance: There’s every chance that your trundle bed will be used for messy sleepovers, leaving it prone to all sorts of spills and accidents. But, there’s no need to worry as the complete trundle bed frame can be easily wiped down with a clean cloth. You should also pull the trundle out occasionally to make sure that it’s working properly.

Trundle beds with stairs: Every bunk bed with trundle is fitted with sturdy stairs that can be used to access the top level. As mentioned, these beds will only be a suitable choice for children over the age of six.

Each trundle bed frame is made with the same commitment to quality as the wider Bunk Beds range, with most being made from wood materials. For instance, the White Wooden Classic Bunk Bed is finished in a pure white lacquer for a clean look.
Trundle bed sizes
With their compact, space-saving design, trundle beds are ideal for smaller children's rooms. Of which, they primarily use single mattresses on either of the two included bunks. You can easily slide the second mattress out, freeing up an extra sleeping or storage area as required.

Toddler Beds (2’3” x 4’ 7”): Toddler beds are smaller than standard bed sizes and are designed to be used by children aged one to four.
Small Double Kids’ Beds (4'0" x 6'3"): Sitting between single kids’ beds and standard double kids’ beds, small double kids’ beds add an extra foot of width, while keeping the same length as a single.
Double Kids’ Beds (4'6" x 6'3"): Double kids’ beds are the largest available. They can comfortably fit two or three sleepers, if needed, with six more inches of width over the small double.
