The perfect bed for young gamers
There are millions of child gamers across the world. Whether it’s scoring goals in Rocket League or getting victory royale’s in Fortnite, your kid’s gaming can quickly take up space with multiple consoles, controllers, and screens. It’s enough to make any parent’s head spin, and you’ve likely given up some of your own space for it.
With a gaming bunk bed, you can be more savvy with your child’s bedroom, giving them their own place to sit back and hang out with friends online, or a place to research and finish their homework after school.
The benefits of a kids gaming bed
If your child’s bedroom feels cluttered with video games and accessories, a gaming bunk bed might just be the perfect solution. Other benefits of gaming bunk beds include:
Saving space: as a hobby, gaming takes up a surprising amount of space. While the individual parts themselves, such as consoles, gaming PCs, and screens don’t take up much floor space, combined, they can quickly dominate a room. By swapping out separate desks and bed frames for an all-in-one gaming bunk bed, you can reclaim the lost space you once had.
Money savings: compared to buying a bed and a desk separately, choosing a combined bunk bed and gaming desk can sometimes be more cost-efficient.
Concentration: gaming beds aren’t just used for gaming. The sturdy desks underneath are great for doing homework, allowing your child to focus in private.
Considerations when buying a gaming bunk bed
Before fully investing in a gaming bunk bed, make sure you’ve considered the following:
1. Safety: gaming bunk beds will often always feature a top bunk for sleeping, meaning safety is key. All the bunk beds we sell come with child safety features in mind, like railings and barriers to prevent accidents.
2. Room size: mostly, gaming bunk beds will help save space in a room by combining a desk and a bed frame into one piece of furniture. We also send all the beds we sell flat-packed, meaning they can be easily carried to the room of your choice.
3. Storage: while kids gaming beds are multi-purpose, you should also consider what their storage needs are. Gaming bunk beds, for example, can be found with: full-width desks, half-width desks with storage, or smaller desks and larger storage (such as wardrobes or shelving). These compartments can be used to store things like game boxes, consoles, controllers, and headsets.
4. Age ranges: typically, gaming desks are suitable for children over the age of six, because they feature only one top bunk. Younger children (four years and younger) should only sleep on the bottom bunk.

5. Assembly: as mentioned above, every gaming bunk bed we sell comes flat-packed. This means you’ll need to build it once it arrives. Thankfully, assembling our bunk beds is relatively easy, and can be done with a few hand tools. All together, you’ll need a screwdriver (or a low-powered drill) with Phillips, pozi drive, or hex heads, and a soft mallet.

6. Cleaning/maintenance: cleaning a kid’s gaming bunk bed needs little more than a warm damp cloth. Using any harsh chemicals may strip the finish.
Types of gaming bunk beds
Depending on your child’s needs, a gaming bunk bed can be found in many configurations. For example, there are options with full-width desks and no storage, or ones with slightly smaller desks in favour of better storage. There’s also a choice of wooden or metal materials.
Gaming bunk bed materials
Our gaming bunk beds are made in either wood or metal. Which material you choose depends on your needs:
Wooden Bunk Beds: wood is a very common material for bed frames, thanks to its lightweight and hard-wearing nature. Wood is also very workable, making assembly much easier.
Metal Bunk Beds: like wood, metal is also a hard-wearing material for bed frames. Unlike wood, metal is more resistant to bending and warping from damp, at the cost of increased weight.
Gaming bunk bed sizes
Offering only one top bunk, gaming bunk beds are commonly found with a single mattress. Other sizes of bunk beds include:
Single Bunk Beds (3'0" x 6'3"): suitable for most children over four years, as well as young teenagers, single bunk beds are the smallest size we have available.
Small Double Bunk Beds (4'0" x 6'3"): sitting between single bunk beds and standard double bunk beds, small double bunk beds add an extra foot of width, while keeping the same length as a single.
Double Bunk Beds (4'6" x 6'3"): double bunk beds are the largest available. They can comfortably fit two or three sleepers if needed, with six more inches of width over the small double.
