Save space the fun way, with triple bunk beds
If you’ve got three kids sharing one room, you’ll be all too familiar with the difficulties. The main ones being clutter and organisation. Mountains of toys, clothes, and games can quickly take up floor space, which is stressful and hard to manage. Switching to a triple bunk bed can be a major help - freeing up floor space to help restore order to the chaos.
The benefits of triple bunk beds for kids
When sharing a bedroom between children, space can run out quite quickly. As a result, you’ll need to make space savings wherever you can. Triple bunk beds are especially good at this, as well as a few other tasks:
Space saving: Where a triple bunk bed really shines is taking back lost space in the bedroom. Having three beds in a single room can quickly dominate the space, leaving little room for what truly matters: relaxing and having fun!
If shelf space is really slim, you can choose a triple bunk bed with integrated storage to make the most of the room. These beds feature pull-out drawers underneath the bottom bunk - the perfect space for spare bedding, pillows, and other bedtime essentials.
Money savings: compared to buying three separate beds, having a triple bunk bed can sometimes be more cost-effective. So, not only do you save space, but you might save money, too!
Bonding and sharing: especially for younger children, sharing a bedroom can be a good way of learning how to split things evenly, and even help with boundary setting.
Considerations when buying a triple bunk bed
Before you make a final decision on your triple bunk bed, consider the following:
1. Safety: safety is our number one priority. The beds we sell have safety features like barriers and railings built in to prevent accidents.
2. Room size: for the most part, triple bunk beds will help you save space in any room, but it’s important to consider if the room is tall enough for all three bunks. Triple bunk beds tend to be taller than mid sleeper or low sleeper bunk beds.
3. Storage: rather than spreading your kids’ storage needs across multiple pieces of furniture, you can accomplish several tasks in one go by using a triple bunk bed with storage built in. Triple bunk beds will often have drawers under the bottom bunk, but other bunk beds can even offer larger storage options like wardrobes and cupboards.
4. Age: it’s good to be wary of your child’s age when it comes to choosing a bunk bed, as this can mean slightly different needs. Older children or teenagers may prefer a gaming bunk bed that can be used for homework or chilling out, while younger children would get more joy from additional storage for their toys and games.

5. Assembly: we sell entirely flat-packed furniture at BunkBeds.co.uk. This will mean that some hand tools are needed to put your triple bunk bed together. In most cases, all you’ll need is: a screwdriver (or a low-powered drill) with Phillips, pozi drive, or hex heads, and a soft mallet.

6. Maintenance and cleaning: we suggest wiping down your bunk bed every so often to reduce the build-up of dust. When doing so, use a damp, lint-free towel. Harsh chemicals may impact the finish of the frame.
Types of triple bunk beds
We cater for all the possible versions of triple bunk beds you could think of. Whether it’s sizes including singles or small doubles, or materials like wood or metal.
Triple bunk bed materials
Bunk beds (including our triple sleeper bunk beds) are commonly made from one of two materials:
Wooden Bunk Beds: most of our bunk beds are made of wood. Wood is a strong, lightweight material that offers durability and sturdiness.
Metal Bunk Beds: metal bunk beds are a touch heavier than wood ones, in most cases. However, the material fares slightly better when it comes to warping and flexing.
Triple bunk bed sizes
Depending on the style of triple bunk bed you choose, the mattress sizes can change. Some are offered with three single bunks, while others offer one single bunk and one small double bunk, for example. Other bunk bed sizes we offer include:
Single Bunk Beds (3'0" x 6'3"): suitable for most children over four years, as well as young teenagers, single bunk beds are the smallest size we have available.
Small Double Bunk Beds (4'0" x 6'3"): sitting between single bunk beds and standard double bunk beds, small double bunk beds add an extra foot of width, while keeping the same length as a single.
Double Bunk Beds (4'6" x 6'3"): double bunk beds are the largest available. They can comfortably fit two or three sleepers if needed, with six more inches of width over the small double.
