Stylish, durable bunk beds for boys

Whether it's low bunk beds for younger boys, or a double bottom bunk for an older sibling, we’ve got a wide selection of boys’ beds available.

Choose from one of many interesting and exciting designs that can make bedtime more fun for your little ones. If you're keen on maximising space in a shared bedroom, a boys' bunk bed frame is an excellent option. Or, for more storage for solo sleepers, a boys’ cabin bed, or even a captain’s bed will do the job.

The benefits of boys’ beds

Designed for your son’s needs in mind, our boys’ beds have plenty of advantages, such as:

Built-in storage: Not only are our boys’ beds comfortable, many are designed to meet storage challenges. With integrated drawers and cupboards, they provide a great space for storing extra clothes, pillows, and bedding.

Multi-functional designs: Great for supporting sleep and play, we offer high-quality, themed boys’ beds that serve multiple purposes.

Durability: Once properly assembled, all of our bunk beds for kids are incredibly safe to use as we hold each component to British Safety Standards, whether it's a solid wood bed frame or metal. All top bunks feature a safety rail to prevent a child from rolling out of bed at night and every ladder or set of stairs is sturdy and reliable.

Age-appropriate designs: We offer boys’ beds in various sizes. From toddler beds to full-size standard kids' single beds, we’ve got you covered throughout your child’s lifetime.

Considerations when buying a boys’ bed

Before you finalise your choice, be sure to taking the following factors into account before buying your son’s next bed:

Room size: Make sure you take accurate measurements of your son’s bedroom before buying. Not only will this solve a practical question around whether your desired bed will fit, but it can even help you pick a more optimal style.

Storage needs: Your child’s bedroom can sometimes turn into a bit of a dumping ground, especially without the right storage options. To get the most from their next bed, make sure you query their potential storage needs before buying. For small items, for example, some built-in cupboards and drawers will do just fine. However, for storing larger items or hanging clothes, you may need a built-in wardrobe.

Age range: Your child’s age can greatly impact which type of bed frame you go for. Younger children under four years old generally shouldn’t be allowed to sleep on raised bunk beds - high sleepers in particular.

Assembly: Each of our boys’ beds will arrive disassembled. This means that they’re easier to move to their desired room, but also that you’ll need to build it once it arrives. Thankfully, putting our beds together requires little more than a few basic DIY skills, and some readily-available tools. All together, you’ll need: a screwdriver (or a low-powered drill) with Phillips, pozi drive, or hex heads, and a soft mallet.

Cleaning: Keeping your son’s bed clean is fairly straightforward. To do so, simply wipe it down occasionally with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh cleaning chemicals where possible, as these can risk damaging the finish.

Types of boys’ beds

Our kids’ beds range has plenty of styles that are perfect for your son. Whether they need storage, or prefer cleverly-styled themed beds, there’s a choice for everyone.

Boys’ beds styles

Captain’s Beds: A type of platform bed, a captain’s bed features underbed storage in the form  of drawers, cabinets, and cupboards.

Day Beds: These multi-purpose bed frames can be transformed into a sitting area/sofa in the day, before becoming a traditional bed by night.

Cabin Beds: Cabin beds are similar to a mid-sleeper bunk bed, featuring a raised sleeping platform that makes space for desks, storage, or other mattresses.

Teenager Beds: These feature slightly more grown-up designs, often featuring desk space and storage underneath the bed.

Kids’ Loft Beds: Loft beds areraised high from the ground (like a high sleeper bunk bed), making way for taller underbed storage underneath like wardrobes, study spaces, and bookcases.

Kids’ Trundle Beds: Trundle beds are designed to be versatile, featuring pull-out mattresses for sleepovers.

Kids’ Guest Beds: From folding beds, to beds with trundles and even sofa beds, a kids’ guest bed can come in quite handy for sleepovers and parties.

Kids’ Storage Beds: This collection of kids’ beds is designed to improve organisation around their bedroom. They feature various storage options, from cupboards and drawers to bookcases and wardrobes.

Boys’ beds materials

Most boys’ beds are made from wood. Our collection is often composed of MFC (melamine faced chipboard), though rubberwood and pine can sometimes be found. Wood is a common sight in many types of bedroom furniture, largely due to its high durability and strength levels.

Boys’ beds sizes

Boys’ beds are available in all standard sizes of kids’ bed, and are usable from ages as young as 18 months.

Toddler Beds (2’3” x 4’ 7”): Toddler beds are smaller than standard bed sizes and are designed to be used by children aged one to four.

Single Kids’ Beds (3'0" x 6'3"): Suitable for most children over four years, as well as young teenagers, single kids’ beds are the second smallest size we have available.

Small Double Kids’ Beds (4'0" x 6'3"): Sitting between single kids’ beds and standard double kids’ beds, small double kids’ beds add an extra foot of width, while keeping the same length as a single.

Double Kids’ Beds (4'6" x 6'3"): Double kids’ beds are the largest available. They can comfortably fit two or three sleepers, if needed, with six more inches of width over the small double.

Help & Advice

Are children’s beds safe for 4-year-olds?

The higher the bed frame is off the floor, the older your child will need to be. For example, high/mid sleeper beds are usually reserved for children over six years of age, whereas low sleepers are more suited towards children over four years plus.
